Festivart Lavagna

Snakes represent creative life force. As they shed their skin, they are symbols of rebirth, transformation, and healing.
In Italian, “Muta” means both “snake skin” and the imperative of “mutare”, changing.

This mural represents a big black snake as a tribute to transformations in life.

It is black, because change is often scary - but it’s surrounded by playful patterns and bright colours, because fear can be reframed as excitement.

If change is inevitable, then make it fun.
Shed and shine

This wall was painted upon invitation to “Festivart”, the festival of arts, music and poetry organised by the Municipality of Lavagna (IT) between July 19th and August 4th, 2024.

Thanks to Dario Pruonto for the invitation and for curating the production, and to the Municipality of Lavagna for giving me this beautiful opportunity.
