The idea

Food for Thought is a participatory supper club series that brings together eight strangers to cook, eat and exchange ideas around a thought-provoking theme. Through collaborative cooking and a communal feast, it creates space for meaningful connections, unexpected conversations and collective reflection.

The experience

The theme of the evening was "The Art of Being Human: what does it mean to be human in an increasingly artificial world?"

As technology takes over more of our functional tasks, the experience invited guests to reconnect with what makes life tangible and meaningful: our senses, our appetites, our creativity and our relationships with others. It was designed around indulgence and the pleasure of being alive.

From selecting ingredients before the event to cooking together and sharing a decadent meal, every stage was designed to engage the senses and invite participation. Sound, smells, textures, visuals and taste came together in an atmosphere of sensory abundance, where eating became a catalyst for connection and reflection.

A set of house rules, shared with every guest, set the culture of the evening. They turned a table of strangers into a safe space to open up, listen and disagree with respect.

House rules: everyone has a seat and a voice; stay curious; disagree with respect; presence is a gift; what's shared here stays here; not too many chefs in the kitchen

My role

I conceived, designed and delivered the experience from concept to the evening itself.

  • Developed the central narrative and creative concept.
  • Designed the participant journey, from selecting ingredients before the event to the final conversation.
  • Structured the collaborative cooking experience.
  • Curated the sensory atmosphere: sound, smells, textures and visuals.
  • Facilitated the transition from shared activity to collective conversation.

My approach brought together experience design, multisensory storytelling and social interaction, so that food became both a medium for connection and a starting point for deeper reflection.

"Thank you for creating such a beautiful space for connection! Every detail was so thoughtful and intentional. I came knowing no one and left with a warm heart."
